Overview

Aflac’s Accident Insurance Policy

An accident—an injury! It happens in a split second, often without warning of any kind. Yet the financial expenses of being injured can linger for months, even years, in the form of unexpected bills. Aflac’s accident insurance policy pays cash benefits for a covered person’s injury, death, or dismemberment caused by a covered accident.

  • In 2015, 40.6 million people – about 1 out of 8 – sought medical attention.*
  • On average, 17 unintentional injury deaths and about 4.630 medically consulted injuries occur every hour.*

  • 77 medically consulted injuries occur every minute in the U.S., slightly more than 1 every second.

Aflac pays cash benefits directly to you, unless you choose otherwise. This means you will have additional resources to help with the financial consequences of an accidental injury that may not be covered by major medical insurance.

The accident insurance policy:

  • Has no deductibles or copayments – You do not have to meet a deductible before benefits are paid nor do you have to pay a copayment.
  • Is portable – You can take it with you if you change jobs or retire.
  • Is guaranteed-renewable – You can keep the policy as long as you pay the premiums.
  • Has no network restrictions – You choose your own medical treatment provider.

This is a brief product overview only. Coverage may not be available in all states. The policy has limitations and exclusions that may affect benefits payable. Refer to the policy for complete details, limitations, and exclusions.  For costs and complete details of the coverage, please contact your local Aflac agent.
